Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Zen Pregnancy app (also listed on the App Store as "Hypnobirthing Pregnancy") and the website zenpregnancy.net (together, the "Service") handle your information. The Service is operated by Zen Pregnancy ("we," "our," or "us").

Our Privacy Promise, in Short

• No account. We never ask for your email, phone number, password, or Apple ID. There is no sign-in.
• Just your first name. The only personal detail we ask for is an optional first name, so the app can greet you.
• Your pregnancy data stays on your phone. Your due date, sessions, journal, contractions, kicks, and weight stay on your device unless you choose to start Live Family Sharing.
• Family Sharing is opt-in and temporary. If you start it, only what you choose to share is uploaded. You can delete it all with one tap, and it deletes itself 60 days after your due date.
• No ads, no tracking, no analytics. We do not use advertising, tracking, analytics, or crash-reporting tools, and we never sell your data.

1. Information That Stays on Your Device

Most of what you enter into the app is saved only on your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch. We cannot see it, and it is never uploaded to our servers:

• First name (optional), used to personalize greetings such as "Good morning, Sarah."
• Due date or pregnancy week, and trimester, used to choose the right sessions and show your baby's weekly size.
• Your goals and bedtime, chosen during onboarding and used to build your daily program and reminders.
• Progress and preferences: listening history, program day, streaks, favorites, playlists, downloaded tracks, and saved affirmations.
• Tools: contraction timer, kick counter, weight tracker, due date calculator (including a last menstrual period date if you enter one), and journal and mood entries.

Our home screen widgets and Apple Watch app read this information on your devices only. If your device's own backup (such as iCloud Backup) is turned on, Apple may include this app data in your device backup, under Apple's privacy policy. We have no access to those backups.

2. Live Family Sharing (Optional)

Live Family Sharing lets you create a private family page so your partner and loved ones can follow your pregnancy and labor. It is completely optional. Nothing is uploaded unless you start it.

What we store when you start a family page

• Your first name (or the display name you choose) and your due date, so family can see your week and countdown.
• Updates you choose to post: photos, captions, short messages, weekly bump cards, and milestones.
• Labor updates, if you choose to share them, such as contraction start and end times and intensity.
• A birth announcement, if you post one, which can include your baby's name, birth date, weight, length, and labor duration.
• Your partner's first name, if your partner joins.
• Reactions and comments family members leave on your page, with the first name they choose to type.

We do not collect your email, phone number, contacts, location, Apple ID, or any advertising or device identifier for Family Sharing.

Photos

• We only receive the specific photos you pick and post. The app never scans or uploads your photo library.
• Before upload, the app resizes each photo and saves it as a new image. This removes hidden photo details (metadata), such as the GPS location where it was taken.
• Photos are stored temporarily and are deleted automatically when your family page expires (see "How long we keep it").
• Photos are never shown publicly. They can only be viewed through your private family link.

Who can see your family page

• Your page has a private, hard-to-guess link. Anyone you give the link to can view it, so share it only with people you trust. You decide who gets it.
• Family pages are hidden from search engines and are not listed anywhere.
• If you invite your partner with a join code, your partner can also post updates and time contractions on the same page.
• Reactions are on by default. Comments are optional and can be switched on or off by you. You can hide any comment and delete any post at any time.
• To remember a family member's first name and reactions, the family web page saves them only in that visitor's own browser. We do not use cookies or tracking on family pages.

You are in control: deletion

• Delete everything instantly: in the app, open Family and tap "Delete family page." This permanently deletes the page and all of its posts, photos, comments, reactions, contractions, and birth details from our servers, right away.
• Delete one post: you can delete any single post, and its photo file is removed from our server.
• Your partner can leave the page from their own app. Only you, as the page creator, can delete the whole page.
• Deleting the app does not delete a family page by itself. Delete the page first, or it will be removed automatically when it expires.

How long we keep it

Family pages are temporary by design. Every page, with all of its photos and updates, is automatically and permanently deleted 60 days after your due date. If no due date was set, it is deleted after 60 days without activity. Deleted data is not kept in any archive, and we cannot restore it.

3. How We Use Information

We use information only to run the features you use: to personalize your daily program, to show your family page to the people you share it with, and to manage your subscription. We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or tracking, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.

4. Subscriptions and Purchases

Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store (or by Google Play on Android, where available). We never see or store your payment card details.

We use RevenueCat to verify whether your subscription is active. RevenueCat receives your purchase and subscription details from the App Store together with a random, anonymous app user ID. We do not send RevenueCat your name, email, or any pregnancy information. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

5. Content Downloads and Server Logs

The app downloads audio sessions, images, articles, and daily content from our servers (hypnobirthapp.com, zenpregnancy.net, and mindtastik.com). These requests do not include your name or any pregnancy information.

Like all web servers, ours may briefly record standard technical logs, such as IP address, device type, and time of request, for security and reliability. To prevent abuse of family links, our family server stores only a scrambled (hashed) version of IP addresses, never the address itself. Temporary abuse-protection records are cleared within about 24 hours.

6. Notifications

Reminders, such as your bedtime session or weekly bump card, are scheduled on your device as local notifications. We do not send push notifications from a server, and we do not collect a push notification token. You can turn notifications off at any time in iOS Settings.

7. Photo Library Permissions

• Choosing photos: when you add a photo to your family page, you pick it with Apple's photo picker. Only the photos you select are shared with the app.
• Saving images: when you tap Save on an affirmation card, share card, or progress image, the app may ask to add that image to your library. This is add-only access and is never used to read your existing photos.

The app does not use your camera, microphone, location, contacts, or Apple Health data.

8. No Analytics, Advertising, or Tracking

The app contains no advertising, no third-party analytics, no crash-reporting tools, and no social media tracking tools. We do not use Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA) or track you across other companies' apps or websites. If you have chosen to share analytics with developers in your iPhone settings, Apple may provide us with anonymous crash reports under Apple's own privacy policy.

9. Pregnancy and Health Information

We treat pregnancy information as sensitive. Your due date, contractions, kicks, weight, and journal stay on your device. The only exception is the information you choose to post on a family page, which is used only to show that page to the people you invite and is deleted as described above. We never share health information with advertisers, data brokers, or insurers.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is designed for expectant parents. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you post photos or details of your baby on a family page, you control that content and can delete it at any time. It is also deleted automatically when the page expires. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Data Security

All data sent between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. Family pages use long, random private links. Photos can only be viewed through those links and are blocked from direct access. Repeated attempts to guess links are rate-limited. No system is perfectly secure, so please share your family link only with people you trust, and protect your device with a passcode.

12. Your Rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR in the EU and UK or the CCPA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, and to object to or restrict its use. Because we have no accounts, you can exercise most of these rights directly in the app:

• Edit your name and pregnancy details in the app at any time.
• Delete your family page, any single post, or any comment from the Family screen.
• Delete the app to remove all data stored on your device.
• Manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store settings.

For any other request, email us at support@zenpregnancy.net. Please include your family page link so we can find it, because we do not know who you are otherwise. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Where the GDPR applies, we process family page data based on your consent (you choose to start the page and can delete it at any time), and subscription data to perform our contract with you.

13. International Users

Our servers and service providers may be located outside your country. By using Live Family Sharing, you understand your family page data will be processed there, protected as described in this policy.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app changes. We will post the new version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. If a change materially affects how we handle your data, we will let you know in the app.
